Monday Math Freebie - Problem Solving Booklet

While working on some word problem/problem solving resources, I thought it might be nice for students who weren't journaling in math to have their own problem solving booklets.

In this packet you'll find two versions of the cover (one says word problem book and the other says problem solving book) and a blank problem solving page. On the forms students draw a picture, use a number line, and write an equation to solve the problem. They must also give the solution to the problem and explain how they know the answer is correct.

Monday Math Freebies - More Picture Sudoku

Last week I created my first of a set of puzzles to ease kids into Sudoku. These puzzles contain a 6x6 grid (instead of 9x9) and use pictures instead of numbers. Today I've added three new sets of picture puzzles to the Monster Sudoku puzzles.

Each file contains 5 different challenges with pieces that can be used to solve the puzzles. Answer keys are also included. Please note that every set has different puzzles, so if you download all 4 sets you get 20 different puzzles!

Sudoku Puzzles With Pictures

I thought it might be fun to ease kids into Sudoku puzzles by trying a scaled down version (6x6 grid) with pictures instead of numbers. Here's what I've come up with so far. This first version has 5 different challenges with pieces that can be used to solve the puzzles.

Monday Math Freebies - Domino Problem Solving

This week's freebie is a domino problem solving activity. Here's the introduction.

Nine dominoes from a set were placed on a table, some horizontally, some vertically. When the pattern was drawn on paper, the lines showing the individual dominoes were not recorded. Can you determine the arrangement of the dominoes? 

The file includes a set of dominoes so that students can work with them to determine the final arrangement.
